Gordon Luff - Founder

In 1969, God took a piece of property out of the devil’s hands and transformed it into a place of change and influence for the cause of Christ.  Located in the mountains of Northern California, 45 miles east of Redding, Lassen Resort was a morally and financially bankrupt logging resort.  Through the generosity of a local business man, the vision of a local youth man and God’s hand of blessing, Lassen Pines Christian Camp was started. 

For the past forty five years Lassen Pines has ministered to adults and to the young people of the West Coast.  During this time it is estimated that thirty five to forty thousand decisions have been made for the cause of Christ.

The ministry of Lassen Pines provides a facility where the work of the Holy Spirit is free to move in the lives of those who attend.  To this end, a great effort is put into providing a high quality food service program, clean and comfortable accommodations, safe and exciting recreational programs and most importantly a quiet and calm place to hear the voice of God.

 Lassen Pines is a 501c3 non-profit corporation.  Our mission is not to profit in monetary terms by the world’s standards, but to invest in eternal rewards by God’s standards.  From the beginning, the philosophy has been to try and keep the cost of attending camp as low as possible in order for the most people to attend.  We feel the kids that need camp the most are often the ones who can afford it the least.  We do not charge what it cost to operate.  This means that we are first dependent on God’s faithful provisions.  Secondly we are dependent on the help and support of individuals who believe in our mission.  We are grateful to all who over the years have joined with us in this effort.
